Welcome to the Beaumont Primary School PSA page. The PSA is a group of Beaumont staff and parents who work together to organise fundraising events for the school to be able to buy equipment and pay for activities which go beyond the school budget. Every parent is welcomed to attend meetings and to get involved in the events.
The charts below show the money which has been raised over the last couple of years and how the funds have been spent.
This academic year (2019/2020) the PSA is putting a proportion of the funds raised towards resources for the new learning for life programme. This programmes provides experiences which enhance children’s education. We work in mixed classes across all year groups to allow children to work and learn together. There are six groups which cover a variety of activities under the following headings: Safety for All, Mind and Soul, Home Sweet Home, Time for Talk, The Great Outdoors and Global Citizenship. We believe this is a unique learning experience that provides a hidden curriculum which supports our values and school characteristics of Resilience, Teamwork, Determination, Perseverance, Motivation and Aspirations.
In addition to the annual expenditure on regular events (such as the Theatre Production, birthday cards) and additional resources (see pie charts) , the PSA is saving money each year towards the purchase of a new interactive wooden structure, click here to see the new equipment. https://www.amvplaygrounds.co.uk/steam-express-train-set
We are delighted to let you know that our application, submitted by the PSA to also raise funds for this project, to the Tesco Bags of Help grant scheme has been successful. Our project aims to create a children’s new interactive wooden structure to encourage all the children in school to be more active in a fun way and to stimulate their imagination. This is now being put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores during January, February and March 2020. Depending on the number of votes we receive we will be awarded up to £2,000 for first place, £1,000 for second place or £500 for third.
We would ask all parent/carers/family members to look out for this when shopping in the following Tesco stores during that period and ensure they post their token to support this project.
- Tesco Extra, Mansell Way Horwich
- Tesco Express, Westhoughton
- Tesco Express, Adlington
To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction and it is not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.
We are still looking to raise an additional £1500 (approximately) to reach the target for the cost of the train (this does not currently include delivery & installation costs). We will provide an update on the result of the Tesco Bags of Help scheme as soon as this is available.
If you’d like to know more about joining the PSA or helping organise or volunteer at any of the PSA events (any time you can spare is much appreciated) then please contact the school office on 01204 652149.
